How do I find a DSP?

Families can find and hire their own DSPs by networking with family and friends, or the individual’s school or volunteer networks. 

Hamaspik can onboard anyone who meets the requirements to serve as a DSP. The requirements are straightforward: the DSP cannot reside at the same address as the individual receiving services and must meet certain age criteria. Depending on the service, additional requirements – such as educational background – may apply. These requirements vary by service, your coordinator can provide the full details and answer any questions about the specific requirements for each service.

When families are involved in selecting their own DSPs, they can ensure the person is the right match for their child, often choosing someone their child already knows and trusts.
